I love God and His Word, my best friend and trophy husband of almost half a century, and my family. Being a grandma x 9 is the best! I enjoy serving at my church, encouraging others with the love of Christ, and sharing how everyone can experience an abundant life in Him. I love my morning java and dark chocolate. I love going on dates with my husband and spending time with family and friends. I love the beach and the mountains, but when I can’t be there, I enjoy curling up with a good book in my recliner in front of a roaring fire.
My husband and I live in Oak Hill, VA, a suburb of Northern Virginia (NOVA). We worship and serve at McLean Bible Church.
Among other ministries in and outside their church, we have mentored married couples for the past 19 years. That is my passion because I know what is possible. Being married for so long, has taught me a lot about commitment, honesty, integrity, and forgiveness as we have shared the ups and downs of life and the bliss and blisters of marriage.
We have been blessed to receive incredible Biblical teaching most of our adult lives. We have taken these principles to heart and applied them not only in our personal lives but also to our interactions with each other, as well as with family and friends.
From this, I have learned what might seem at first glance to be an oxymoron. My message (straight from the Bible) is simple yet profound: ”It truly is the surrendered, obedient life, the crucified life that experiences the victorious, abundant life.” These are just a few of the many principles I share with you through the various books I believe the Lord has led me to write.
Am I perfect and have it all together? Absolutely not! Do I fully understand the gift of life we’ve been given? No way, and I never will this side of heaven. But I am not to hoard what I have learned and experienced. Rather, I am compelled to share it with others so that they may also share in that blessing.
My calling is to teach others how to experience that coveted abundant life in Christ.
I believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word. It is inspired, entirely true, and perfect for guidance. It contains everything I need to know and to walk with God.
I believe in one God who exists forever in three persons. He is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—completely holy, sovereign, and good. He dwells within those who trust in Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is fully man and fully God, the one and only Lord and Savior, who died for our sins and was raised on the third day.
I believe salvation comes by grace through faith in Christ. It is a free gift for all who repent and believe; it’s impossible to earn, but it will completely change our lives for eternity.
I believe in the Church. God designed His people to gather into churches and Christian communities that support one another, become more like Jesus, and make disciples.
I believe that Jesus will return. He will come back to judge the living and the dead, condemning those who reject Him to perish, but rewarding His followers with eternal life.
My passion is to help people discover their life’s purpose while empowering them to unlock their God-given potential.
It is my heart’s desire that everyone would have an opportunity to meet Jesus – to experience Him intimately, to have their hearts transformed by His love and grace, and to learn the peace, joy, and victory that comes from a “sold-out” life of surrender and obedience. Are you “All In” for Christ? Do you truly know Him?
I am so sad by how few people even consider where they might spend eternity. Have you thought about how long that really is? Many people I talk to seem to concentrate only on enjoying the “here and now” and haven’t thought about whether they have the assurance of heaven.
Among the people I meet, even Christians, many are not experiencing the benefits and joy of life that come from surrender and obedience, which lead to an empowered, victorious life in Christ. Their daily lives don’t reflect the power and joy, or the transformation of a changed life. My purpose in writing these books is to encourage anyone seeking to deepen their spiritual walk.
